Throughout the school year students from all over the county have given their time, energy and enthusiasm to our mission. Habitat would like to thank all our students who hammered a nail, picked up a paintbrush, planted a flower or did whatever was necessary to make our community a better place. On behalf of all those you helped, thank you. Our future is bright in the hands of young men and women such as you! Below are pictures of Jackson Memorial High School students putting siding on the Manchester home.
Thank You Manchester High School Recently, the members of Manchester High School's Habitat
Chapter kicked off their "Brick by Brick" initiative. Students and staff were asked to purchase a brick that was
worth a monetary value based on what the brick was actully purchasing. Two dollars purchased a 2 by 4, $12.00 a flat a flowers
etc. etc. all the way up to items such as a front door and windows. The bricks were then placed in the shape of a home - similar
to the one being built right in their neighborhood. Not only that, the house will be the new home to three Manchester students!
Suzan Fichtner,
the Executive Director of NOHFH accepted a check for $1,075.00! That will buy our new homeowners plenty of bricks! Thank
you Manchester for your generous check and for helping one of your own.
Brick Memorial High School Chapter Lends a Hand They say a picture is worth a thousand words.
The following pictures show the students from the Brick Memorial Habitat Chapter hard at work on the Manchester home. Thank
you for giving us your time, energy and enthusiasm as well as your new found skills! |
